Below Belief

One night in Bangkok. Arriving at 3pm jet lagged from the uk and only one night layover in we always knew we’d only have 8 hours to experience Bangkok. Both of us had been here before but we did “do” Bangkok.

Sky train to Siam Square, checking out the big Thai retail obsession – mostly focused on Western consumer brands. Then Tuk-Tuk to Khao San Road back to backpacker basics and “strong cocktails”. Then walk (hot) to the Golden Palace, a couple of bowls of street noodles, two beers and we’re set for a 1 hour boat trip along the river. We’re the only passengers on this little launch and the city is pretty by night.

Finally we catch a tuk Tuk to Patppng road to take in the crazy strip clubs and ping pong shows. A beer in a “bottomless bar” (girls with bikini tops) is a funny finish to our night in Bkk.

Then I got us lost walking back to the hotel. Good job I’m married to S… Who bought us lollies and got us home.

Now Laos… If we don’t melt in the 36 degree heat on the station platform.
